Education and Society Theme House (EAST)

The Education and Society Theme House (EAST) provides a living-learning space for undergraduates interested in educational research, policy and activism, as well as teaching.

EAST House is led by Resident Fellows Christine Wotipka and Anthony Antonio, who are associate professors in the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Professor Wotipka is the Director of the Master's Program in International Comparative Education and International Education and Policy Analysis, as well as the Director of the Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Professor Antonio is the Associate Director of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Policy Studies in Education and the Associate Director of the Stanford Institute for Higher Education Research.

Each year, undergraduates can also apply to be an Academic Theme Associate to organize programming for EAST House.
